![]() ![]() It really sacrifices a lot to have the ability to fire torps in a wide-ish arc, something that you shouldn't use as an offensive weapon due to aforementioned armor+agility weakness. Also no overlapping torpedo arcs, so if you want to CQC nuke a BB you're gonna have to do a really risky broadside turn (combined with the poor turning radius tends to present poor reward relative to the risk) Dispersion is OK, and it does carry 10 guns for a decent anti-DD broadside. Upsides being nice camo, nice top speed (A-20 syndrome, goes fast straight but can't turn worth a damn), usable armor against enemy cruisers (useless if a 15" or 16" comes crashing down on your deck though) and it costs 1/2 as much to repair as a normal tier 8 (credit income doesn't seem much higher than a Murmansk though.). Long profile makes it easy meat for USN TBs that can easily land all 6 torpedoes from a single squadron on your broadside, but thin profile saves it a bit from DBs (not that it matters much). ![]() SHIT reload (after Furutaka buff the Atago now has the longest reload of IJN 8" guns), pretty sluggish turning (poor rudder shift with below average turning radius) and piss poor AA (absolutely useless against equal/higher tier CVs). ![]()
